A Fresh New Start!

As the year ends, I wonder what the next will bring. I'm optimistic that 2011 will bring new ideas, new clients, new friends, and great inspiration. I always want to stay postitive that there is so much more for all of us in the future of interior design.

I'm excited to think that with the dropping of the ball, it's a fresh new beginning. Anything is possible. I can't wait to start designing new things. Creating new inspiring spaces. Seeing what great new finds are out there. And I can't wait to share them with all of you. We will be bringing in new products, new styles and a brand new look here at The Window Scene.

We are going a little more high tech, to help you get inspired and visualize the end result in your interior design needs. We will be offering more design options and a better range of vendors.  Stop by in the New Year and see what new great products have been added.  Let's all get ready to decorate!
So welcome 2011! It's going to be a great year!

Wine Connoisseur Gifts!

New arrivals in today! Check out the awesome new vintage tea towels and trays for your favorite wine connoisseur! Get them in a set or buy them separately. The trays are beautifully distressed. The tea towels come in 3 different designs. One with old cork screw designs. A great old world map on another. The 3rd is inspired from a antique wine crate.  A repeat of the design inspiration is on the trays.  The handles on the trays are covered with wine corks. What a fantastic gift for this Christmas season. Pair it with their favorite bottle of wine. Who wouldn't want to receive such a cool gift!

Just Announced!! The Pantone 2011 Color of the Year is....

Honeysuckle! Read what Pantone has to say about this hot hue for 2011:

Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.

While the 2010 color of the year, PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.

“In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother color red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.”

There are many great ways to incorporate Honeysuckle into your home decor. Add pops of color with toss pillows, table runners, and other home accessories. A single wall painted in this vibrant hue can add excitement and energy.
Love the color but not sure how to work it into your existing decor? Call for an in-home design consultation, and let me show you all the possibilities.

Fresh New Looks!

Fresh new looks coming to the Window Scene!  For some reason, I can't get enough of a few styles, one being anything Swedish/or vintage, and two being anything from the UK. Is it just me, or do these fabrics rock! We should have some samples at the store in a couple of weeks. I love the palette and the dainty style of the prints.  Let me know what you think!

Winter Wonders

I just came across this picture of the most amazing view. I think I need to go to Belgium. YOU?  Totally loving the awesome fur-topped stools!
